Story

On a grey winter day in Warsaw we took an antique globe & dreamed. The Soviet Union was breaking down & our historical experience spoke of a possible war. We wanted to move as far away as possible. We had a map of New Zealand & the romance of adventure intoxicated us. Ultimately Australia proved more practical, as here lived Mr. Zdzislaw Porebski- my Father’s uncle & a IIWW. refugee. He sponsored us.

Leaving behind a girlfriend, my heart was torn. Changing planes in Singapore we were arrested, as Father had ancient weapons in his luggage & the local authorities did not recognise Polish & Australian licences. Fear, Prayer. We were let free on Chinese New Year of the Monkey.

A glorious Australian sunrise greeted us over Adelaide. New Beginning! 10 years I grieved for lost country & love. Materially & career wise I am not very well, but Father (Marek Stanislaw) helped me to sponsor Laxmi Vardharaj (ne Shetty) from Mumbai in India – an Internet romance born of adventure craving. We married 10.10.2003. Now we have a small son (Aryan Mirowit) & another one on the way. Brother (Jacek) since (14,5,2008) married a Chinese from Shanghai (Kerong ne Zhou). Our Mother’s name is Elzbieta Halina ne Jesko.
