Story

Parents looking for a better life for their children and opportunity for full time employment.

Sailed on the SS Oswestry Grange a vessel of 6591 tonnes had a speed of 13 knots. Passenger accommodation for 24 first class and 16 second class passengers from London arrived in Australia 27 August 1911. The journey was rough many children on board a lot of them seasick the Foreman family made their first home at Rosedale Bundaberg and later moved to Coorparoo Brisbane where they remained for the rest of their lives.

As Bill was only a small child we can only reiterate stories from his parents (Emily and Ingram) who were very pleased to be living in Australia where they had freedom sunshine plenty of food to eat and potential to make a successful life. They appreciated the openness and friendship of other Australians and their casual approach to life in general at that time.
