THOMAS ANDERSON was born 18 Aug 1817 in Larbert, Scotland to his parents James ANDERSON & Margaret SMITH. He married Margaret FLEMING on 17 Feb 1852 in Larbert, Scotland. Margaret was born on 29 Oct 1826 in Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland to her parents John FLEMING & Mary HAMILTON.
They had 7 children all born in Scotland:-

Margaret Smith Anderson born 1854,
Elizabeth Anderson born 1856,
James Anderson born 1858,
Agnes Nielson Anderson born 1860,
Marion Allan Anderson born 1862 (died infant 1864),
Marion Fleming Anderson born 1866 (died infant 1867).
Unfortunately his wife Margaret died on 12 July 1872, only 20 years after they were married.
Thomas was a farmer in Scotland and emigrated to Australia on ship ‘Garonne’ leaving for Melbourne 30th April 1884 with his daughter Elizabeth & son in law John HAMILTON, grandson Robert Hamilton and his daughter Agnes Neilson Anderson.
His third daughter Elizabeth Hamilton & her husband John, who emigrated to Australia in 1884, founded ‘Rosebank’ Farm at Woodstock on Loddon, Victoria and had 10 children, 1 born is Scotland & 9 born in Australia. Elizabeth died at Newbridge, Victoria, on 18 June 1918. Her husband John Hamilton died at Newbridge, Victoria, on 20 Aug 1927.
His eldest daughter Mary stayed in Scotland and married John Blyth and had 2 children.
His second daughter Margaret emigrated to USA & married George Aitken in New York in 1874 & had 5 children. She died on 23 Dec 1912 in Woodstock, Vermont, USA.
As far as we know, Thomas’s only son, James stayed in Scotland (was living in Glasgow).
His fourth daughter Agnes married in Melbourne, on 23 March 1886, to Robert CONOCHIE. As a young man Robert worked in a drapery in Glasgow, Scotland. He obtained work in Melbourne in the same field and was soon offered a position in Foy & Gibson department store in Collingwood. In 1903 he was transferred to Brisbane to manage a branch store opening there. They had 7 children. Agnes died on 15 April 1906 and Robert on 15 Sep 1924 both at New Farm, Brisbane, Queensland.
Thomas died in Carlton, Melbourne, Australia, on 16 May 1888 (at the Conochie home) in his 71st year, only 4 years after his arrival in Australia.
