Story

Reason for leaving homeland – Land of Opportunity and Stability

I was born in Bangladesh and grew up in Dubai, Dhaka, Pennsylvania(USA) and London. I graduated with a Bachelors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Penn State University, USA. It also had a keen interest in Economics and after a lot of research I came to the conclusion that I needed stability in life and starting a new life in Australia would be challenging and exciting. I was scared of the decision but my calculations showed I could reach the peak of my career in this newly developed country.

I decided to do double masters in Electronics Engineering and MBA in University of Technology Sydney. After coming here not just my career changed for the better but I met a wonderful girl whom I plan to marry in a few months. My brother and sister have now applied for their immigration and will be joining the family soon. I am in love with this beautiful nation of migrants. Apart from everything I love food and in Sydney I can find anything I want .. from Greek to Indian. (I am now a Project Manager in IBM)

I came in Winter 2004 but I thought Australia would be warm and I could go to the beach anytime of the day. Soon I adjusted that we can have 40 degrees in Christmas!

If I’m asked where I plan to get old and perhaps die someday it would be the beautiful city of Sydney.

I hate to mention again but variety and availability of food just made me happy after coming to Australia. The rich culture and hospitality of the local people were superb.
