Story

I moved to Australia with my Mother and Father in 1997. Both my parents were made redundant and the job market was drying up in Scotland. We came to visit a family friend in Australia a few years before we decided to move here. My parents enjoyed it so much and saw many more opportunities for me here than in Scotland at the time. So we emigrated to Australia!

We flew to Australia and arrived on the 31/8/97. We arrived at Sydney airport and everyone was crying and teary. This is when we discovered that while we were in the air the fatal crash that killed Princess Diana had occurred and the Flight staff had delayed tell us as to not cause a panic.

Obviously the first thing we noticed was how much sun there was, as in Scotland you are lucky to get 3 weeks of sunshine. We love Australia and have really enjoyed it! I believe we will be here forever!
