Story

Panggo sailed from Koepang to Australia on MV Gorgan, arriving in Fremantle on 25/2/1941 aged 32. From there he travelled to Broome where he worked as a pearling indent for SM Male Pearling Masters.

In 1942 during WWII Panggo was evacuated to Sydney and worked with the Royal Netherlands Navy, returning to Broome 1947 with Molly Heffernan, whom he’d met in Melbourne.

Molly and Panggo had three children, Veronica, Noelene and Malcolm (deceased). He has six grandchildren and (currently) nine great-grandchildren.

Panggo remained in Broome until his death on 17 October 1989 aged 80.
