Story

My family(my husband, my son and I) arrived in Australia on the 17th April, 2008. My husband worked in Korea for 10 years and he wanted to study more. In Korea, we were so busy and we were in bitter competition for life. Additionally, there is much competition for children’s education. We wanted to live a quiet and peaceful without competition. Also, my two younger sisters live in Sydney so we made the decision to immigrate Australia.

We flew by Korea Airline and landed in Melbourne on a freezing April evening. The first impression of Melbourne was not good because it was very cold. We stayed at my husband’s friend’s house for a month. My family caught a cold and we were so sick.

One month later, we rented a house in Bulleen. I am satisfied with my beautiful house. In Korea, I lived in a tall apartment for my whole life but now, my house has a beautiful garden. Especially, there are so many places for my son to play. We had so many problems settling here but we solved the problem step by step with perseverance.

My husband goes to Melbourne University for Ph.D. and my son goes to ckildcare near Boxhill TAFE. He can learn English faster than me. In addition, tne main problem for me is English but I will do my best.

Two weeks ago, we went fishing and my husband caught some eels with my son. When I saw them fishing, I was very happy because my husband had no time to play with my son in Korea. Additionally, there is a beautiful blue sky, wonderful blue seas and fantastic landscapes.

I think, our life in Australia is going to be better and better.
