Story
I came to Australia with my family in order to improve and advance our life and wellbeing.
We departed Naples on ‘Roma’ on January 29, 1964 at dusk. As I had never left my home town it was an exciting yet scary adventure. There was much to explore though a few days of rough seas it took its toll. I was excited as I neared my new home.
My first impressions of Australia were the vast open spaces. It was very different to home. It was difficult to begin with due to my age and lack of English yet after a few years I began to settle in and have called Australia home ever since.
