Story
Reason for leaving homeland – For a better life, due to religous unrest in Ireland.
With family of nine children they were 10 pound immigrants. We were only here in Melbourne a short time had a lovely home in Moonee Ponds. One evening a knock at the door very late, Police entered and told my mother her husband had been hit by car and car left the scene.
My father was in a coma for some time before he died. I remeber we went back to Ireland to find out that grandparents had both died just days before we arrived. So then it was back to Australia.
