Story

Reason for leaving homeland – War was about to happen, dictatorship, inequality, economic reasons, did not feel the country will be safe to get married and raise a family.

About the Journey- Left home in 2002, then went to the UK, did exams and got a job offer, but did not get visa to stay, then stayed in Jordan which was safer than going back to Iraq, worked and got married and had one daughter, then heard about Australia opening the door for overseas qualified doctors and sit the medical exam, then got a job as a doctor after an interview over the phone.

Impressions on Arrival – I loved it; looked peaceful, safe to live, away from troubles, multicultural, good work and life style standards and lovely weather and scenes.
