Story
I meet and fell madly in love with a foreign exchange student named Robert Gale Macaulay while finishing the MBA program at Washington State University. We met in early August 1999 though the campus residential housing RA program and on March 28th 2000 he proposed in Boca Grand, Florida. I had finished my master’s degree in December and Rob had another semester of study in the USA. With blessings and support of our families and were married in Oakland, California on July 14th 2001.
About the Journey – I flew with my parents to Maui, HI and Rob flew with his parents from Sydney to Maui to meet for a joint family holiday. After the holiday, I continued with the Macaulay family to Australia.
My first thoughts of Sydney were of joy. I had tears running down my face as I saw my new homeland for the first time. Sydney Harbour was more beautiful than I expected and the sun shining on the harbour in the early morning of Feb 21, 2001 was magical.
We had our first child, Mackenzie Grace Sunshine Macaulay on the 27th November, 2005.
