Story

Reason for leaving homeland – Saw no future for himself in postwar Europe, having been all over the world until the onset of World War 2.

About the Journey – Wonderful month-long sea voyage on the Sibajak with wife and 2 daughters, aged 10 and 8. He conducted English lessons for fellow travellers. First landing was Perth and then on to Melbourne. Flight to Wynyard , Tasmania.

Impressions on Arrival – Massive place with corrugated iron rooves. Enormous distances, lots of farmland, not crowded.
