Story

The Story of Guenter Kath Part 2 – supplementary notes.

The wider Kath family nearly half a century after arrival in Australia:

Guenter\’s first wife went back to Germany, to care for the orphaned children of one of her older daughters from her first marriage. She had been visiting the family in Australia several times, before she died in 1996.

From Guenter Kath\’s 12 children, the two eldest ones from his first marriage are now living with their spouses and offspring in Germany, but have been back on visit repeatedly.

The other ten, including the seven children of his second marriage, are living in Australia. All his sons are engaged in various rural industries and his daughters have married husbands that are farmers. The youngest son is presently working in New Zealand, as manager with a large horticultural establishment, and the youngest daughter lives as a teacher in Charleville. They are the only two of his children who are so far not yet married.

From his five children from the first marriage he has already 30 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and from the already married five of his seven children from the second marriage there are 17 grandchildren so far.

If more detailed information is wanted, please let me know, or see the submitted autobiography.

Yours Heidrun Kath. Gympie, 16 September 2008.
