Story

My husband George , a Plumber in the UK was getting more sick with Bronchitus, I had always wanted to live in Australia and our Doctor said it would be good for him, so I convinced him to give Australia a chance. It was the best move we ever made. Our 2 children Lesley aged 12 on nov 5 1979 and our Son Mark aged 11 on may 3 1980 settled down well, we all went through homesickness but after 2 years we were Australians forever. We became Australian Citizens in 1984. We would not live anywhere else in the world.

About the Journey – We flew over here (my husband had flown over before). My Children were excited but I was terrified. We left snow and arrived in 40 degree heat – What had we done!

It took 2 years to adjust, we now laugh about it,

Impressions on Arrival – WHO TURNED ON THE HEAT !! We now enjoy a wonderful life and we have 7 AUSTRALIAN Grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, My Husband and I still are proud to be Australian and I STILL CALL AUSTRALIA HOME BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES. OUR LUCKY COUNTRY, THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING US TO BE PART OF THIS WONDERFUL LIFE.
