Story

The Story of Frank Molnar (Part Two)

In retirement, Frank kept himself busy by starting an Australian branch of the Hungarian ancient faith. During this period Frank made television and radio appearances.

Eventually Frank slowed his branch activities, allowing him to concentrate and expand on his already well established fruit and vegetable garden and to increase the time he spent hunting and fishing with his sons.

Using the internet, Frank had a number of his poems published in Hungarian newspapers. Frank\’s command of the Hungarian language was remarkable and his poetry became well known. In fact, Frank could speak a total of five languages Ð Hungarian, English, German, French and Latin.

Frank Kalman Molnar passed away on 27 February 2006 in Canberra. To Frank family was everything because of the family he was forced to leave. He was ripped from his beloved Hungary by war and dearly missed his family, the place of his birth and heritage where he had so many fond early memories.

Frank\’s family is eternally grateful that he chose Australia to immigrate to because it is truly the lucky country. Australia is a beautiful country filled with open spaces, pristine beaches and abundant fresh air. Although most importantly to Frank Australia embraced diversity and freedom – the freedom to hold his beliefs and pride in his ancestry while embracing this sunburnt land as his new home. Frank always said that Hungary was his Fatherland and Australia was his Homeland.
