Story

My name is Enes Ali. I\’m from East Turkistan. I came to Australia to study. When I came to Australia I didn\’t have any English.

I learned about Australia accepting refugees. Because my country is not independent and my family were living in danger. (actually not just my family, all of the country is in danger) I applied for a permanent resident visa. I was granted one 7 months later.

When I came to Australia I didn\’t have any English. On the plane more than half of the passengers were Chinese. I was shocked. I couldn\’t fill out the passenger form and one of the Chinese man helped me to fill it in. It was my first time being happy with my Chinese language. My family friend picked me up from the airport. We went to his friend\’s house. I stayed there about a week. Then I rented a house by myself.

It was in the spring. The weather was very good, not cold not hot. The sky was very clear. The weather was very awesome. I like it. The majority of the people were very friendly. They helped me a lot. After that I became best friends with that guy who picked me up. This country. We have free speech and we can do whatever we like.
