Reason for leaving homeland – To get involved in the family winery at Murrumbateman, NSW.
We came via the United States staying in New York City, it felt like the capital of the world, and then in Los Angeles. My daughter celebrated her birthday on the flight to Australia.
I’d been to Australia three times before so knew what to expect. We had a ready made family to welcome us: my father-in-law, and two of my wife’s brothers live in close to Canberra. I think I felt it was a country with its history in front of it, instead of one mired in the past.
