Story

Reason for leaving homeland – Poverty and opportunity to take up study and make a future in a new country.

In Fiji Chris sat for an English exam to qualify to come to Australia. Chris passed and took off for Australia with a suit case and $500.00

About the Journey – Came across by Air Pacific to Adelaide to study at Gilles Plain High School – Chris did not know anybody

Impressions on Arrival – Chris had made arrangements to meet a fellow Fijian at the airport. He was going to give some pointers as to where he might find board etc. Unfortunately, his fellow Fijian did not uphold his end of the bargain and Chris was in this new country with no clue.

One place Chris did know of was his school, so off he went and started his new life in Australia, which he grew to love.
