She came to New South Wales, and married James MELVEN 8/4/1844, At the time of the marriage there was a considerable age differrence, she being 22 years old and he being 41 years. Records indicate that at the time of the Baptism of her daughter, Jane Cormick MELVEN, in 1845, Anne was living at Merreville, Campbelltown.
Anne died on 2 October, 1870, at Gladesville, from cancer of the utterus, and was buried at St Anne’s Church, Victoria Road, Ryde. Unable to locate her gravesite due to the fact that a number of sites were either moved or covered over during road widening in the 1950’s (?). Some headstones were moved to Field of Mars Cemetery, Ryde. Found some of these re-located headstones, but not hers. Same situation with her huband who was also buried at St Anne’s.
