Story

Anne DEEPROSE was born on 5/6/1810, in Ninfield, Sussex, England., and was christened there on 9/9/1810 – daughter of Thomas DEEPROSE and Sarah RUSSELL. She married Frederick James FURNER on 12/6/1828 in Rolvenden, Kent, England. Anne and Frederick had a number of children in England, before, migrating to Australia in 11/7/1842, aboard “Earl of Durham”. She had been a house servant whilst living in England. Anne died on 29/9/1875, aged 65 years, at Binni Creek, Cowra, NSW, having suffered from heart disease. She was buried in the Cowra Cemetery on 1/10/1875.

The children of the marriage were (details of their spouses and children known but not supplied due to space):

1: Sarah Ann FURNER b.1829, Iden, Sussex, England. She was christened there on 29/11/1829. She died as a child in 1832, and was buried in the Iden Cemetary, Sussex, 3/4/1832.

It is known that he arrived in Australia on “The Earl of Durham” aged 9, with his parents, but it is unknown what happened to him. It is possible that he died before his mother (1875), as she has 2 deceased sons on her Death Certificate.
