Story
Born and raised in Bilbao, Spain, Alvaro was a university student who exchanged letters with his Australian friend Chentelle Denning during the 1990’s. Chentelle and Alvaro first met in 1996. Chentelle travelled to Europe on a three month holiday.
In September 2002, Alvaro traveled to London after finishing his studies. Chentelle also traveled to the UK on a working holiday. Both lived in the same house for nearly two years and soon fell in love.
Alvaro and Chentelle became engaged and decided to live in Australia, close to Chentelle’s relatives.
Alvaro arrived in Brisbane in June 2004 after a long 30 hour journey and soon moved to Ballina, NSW with Chentelle. They married on the 21st of August, 2004 and began their life together in Australia. Their first child Claudia Bree was born on the 8th of September 2009.
Alvaro soon discovered the warmth of the Australian People and the unique natural beauty of Australia. He was most impressed how laid back Australians are and in many ways he found a resemblance with aspects of the Spanish laid-back character. He found no difficulties integrating and adopting many of the Australian ways.
Alvaro found the Australian fauna and flora fascinating, beautiful, unique and deadly in some cases.
He enjoyed his life in Australia and always kept in touch with his relatives back in Spain.
