Story
I first arrived in England in 1968 to study English language, and I met some Australian student friends at school in London. Later on early in 1970 I travelled to Australia (Melbourne) to see my friends and ever since I have stayed in Australia because I liked the country.
I travelled in February 1970 from South Hampton, England by ship of the Sitmar line. The journey was a beautiful trip. It was a new life experience for a young person like me at the time; also I made some friends on the journey and enjoyed everyday life on the ship and later in Australia. After starting in the work force as an officer in a travel agency and later working as an professional officer for an investment company in Melbourne ever since.
I was excited to land on Australian soil and looking forward to see my friends and tour Australia first to have a taste of ossy values and culture.
In 1990 I was elected as president for the Moroccan United Community Association, also a committee member for the Arabic speaking festival. In 1996 I became a justice of the peace, and member of the justice association. Also in 1996 I became a marriage celebrant, a member of the family law services, and in 2000 I attended the Victoria University studying a course of advocate in community services, then work place assessment training, and then a road transport law course. I have graduated in all courses and in 2004 I became a member of the Fitzroy legal services.
