Emmanuel Notaras
Emmanuel (Manny) Notaras is the Treasurer of the Board of Immigration Place Australia. Born in Canberra in 1946 he is committed to the local community and to the National Capital.
Manny began his career in the Commonwealth Attorney General’s Department in 1964 and left in 1973 to establish (along with entrepreneur Arthur Laing) what was to become Canberra’s first integrated entertainment, promotion and recording company.
He is Chairman of the Board of Canberra CBD Ltd, and is a member of the ANU School of Music Foundation, the Canberra Museum and Gallery Advisory Committee, the National Riesling Challenge Committee, the Youth Council Canberra Board and has served as President of the Canberra City Heart Business Association for over ten years. In 2001 Emmanuel Notaras was awarded the Centenary Services Medal for ‘services to business and charity’.
