Story
The Arrival in Australia
The first time I arrived in Melbourne, Australia was in July, 2005. I stayed there for one month to visit my parents who had already settled down in Feb, 2005. Since they had retired from their jobs in China, they decided to migrate to Melbourne where they had travelled before during their working time. They believed that Melbourne was one of the best cities for people to live. I was also captivated by this beautiful country too. The natural environment was wonderful and most people were friendly. I had a great holiday at that time.
One month had gone so quickly and I had to go back to China to finish my study at university. While I was sitting on the plane, waiting to take off, I decided to live in Australia with my parents after I graduate and I would try my best to live a better life there.
As everyone knows, it\’s not easy for people to make a new life by migrating, especially for those who speak different languages between their homeland and the country they will live in. I\’m in this situation, too. Although English is my second language and I had learnt a lot at university before, it\’s still not enough. It\’s difficult for me to find a suitable job even though I have work experience and a bachelor degree of economics. I think the best way for me to adapt to the new life here, is to improve my English as much as possible. So I\’ve joined the LLNP course and I\’m also doing a professional course called ‘National Customs Broker’ which will help me to get a great job in the future.
Although life is busy now, I feel happy and enjoy it. I believe that because of my hard work and determination. I\’ll have a beautiful life here in Australia.
