Story
Efmenios was the oldest son of 7 children and due to the difficult economic conditions at the time, he decided that he would leave his home town of Thiva and emigrate to Australia.
His brother Lucky had already arrived 2yrs earlier and Efmenios thought he could work for a few years and go back home, pockets lined with money.
He did not count on meeting his love and wife-to-be Elpiniki and having young Nicholas in 1964. This changed everything and being a qualified shoemaker and repairer, Efmenios was able to build his own business and establish a secure life in Melbourne.
He went further on to sponsor a number of siblings and his brother-in-law to Australia.
