Reason for leaving homeland – Immigrated with family who left Chile for a better opportunity here in Australia
About the Journey – We flew across the Pacific and I remember having no real concept of what we were doing. I was just a child.
Impressions on Arrival – I remember waiting for a Qantas plane to pick us up to go to Australia in Tahiti. Still remember the kangaroo on the tail when it came to the gate. I was very excited about going on that plane. I remember as we were landing in Sydney, seeing swimming pools in back yards. I had not seen that before. I thought this must be a fun place. I was 7 years old.
