Story
Benjamin Hasan journeyed to Australia to study Electrical Engineering at the University of Tasmania under the Colombo Plan. He met his wife-to-be Ann in 1966 and married her after graduation in 1967. They decided to stay in Australia and Ben became an Australian citizen in May 1969. Ann is Australian born. Ben was employed by the Hydro Electric Commission Tasmania (later broken up into Hydro, Transend and Aurora) for 35 years.
Ben and Ann have a son and four daughters all graduates of the University of Tasmania, and as per today have 13 grandchildren.
Ben feels fortunate and proud to be an Australian.
