Story
My name is Waris Khalid. I migrated to Australia in 2009 at the age of 16 years.
The reason to come in Australia was to live with my family. Some of my family were in Afghanistan and some of them were in Australia, My relatives in Australia are my grandmother, aunts, cousins and other relatives. My father, mother, brother and sister were with me in Pakistan. And my grandfather, grandmother and aunt (from my father\’s side) are still in Afghanistan.
My family got out from Afghanistan and came to Pakistan in 1991, and I born in Pakistan. We lived there for 16 years. I have seen my country (I mean Afghanistan) only for a short time.
I was refugee in Pakistan. I was in Pakistan for 16 years, for long time.
My Journey was from Pakistan to Australia. Our plane took off from Islamabad and went to Abu Dhabi and from Abu Dhabi to Sydney; we had a long Journey, to Australia.
When I came to Australia it was so exciting that I began a new life and saw my relatives.
