Story
I was born into a poor family, living on the border of Thailand and Burma. Originally my parents were from Burma. My parents have eleven children so it was difficult for them to feed their children. At that time, my father was a teacher but he didn\’t get good salary. So that time, I found that my life was difficult because we didn\’t have enough money to spend. On the other hand my family had to face the terrible soldiers.
In 1995, our village was over taken by the soldiers, so my family moved to the Mae la camp. To get to Mae la camp, we had to walk for 2 or 3 days and then go by car for one day. Because of this terrible thing, I lost my two elder brothers.
When I was in the camp, we didn’t have a chance to go out from the camp. We had to face the terrible soldiers but I studied and I was supported by the English people who paid my school fees for me. I studied year by year, till I had finished year twelve. After year twelve, I planned to come to Australia to continue my study, to get freedom and to get a new life.
On 11th February 2009 I arrived in Australia. When I arrived here, I found that this place is full of good things, like buildings, people, education etc. And the thing I like most is my teachers; they are very kind and generous. Their relationship to their students is very good, so I like to study in Dickson College and to have good memories here.
Since I have been in Australia, I have had success in receiving a scholarship, so I was very happy and pleased. So I want to thank the people who gave me the scholarship and helped me in my study.
I would especially like to thank the government, because they helped me and had pity on me.
